The Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez has said it's "a big topic of conversation" within WWE that next month's Crown Jewel PLE is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, not many behind the scenes know with 100% certainty that the event will be able to happen in Saudi.

An attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh played part in chats about the 7 November show. Then, on Wednesday, the United States Embassy in Saudi Arabia warned Americans in the country to show "heightened vigilance". They also noted that travel plans could be affected, including outright flight cancellations.

This is obviously all something WWE and TKO will be weighing up. It's less than ideal, because they don't have a ton of pivot room here. At time of writing, we're less than one full month away from Crown Jewel taking place, and no-one can say for sure whether that's a realistic proposition given all of the trouble and hostilities in Saudi.

Last year's event took place in Perth, Australia and saw Seth Rollins and Stephanie Vaquer grab the bespoke Crown Jewel Championships. It was also notable for Bronson Reed defeating Roman Reigns in a 'Street Fight', as well as John Cena winning his last ever match again old foe-turned-friend AJ Styles.

It remains to be seen what WWE would have on hand for 2026's version in Riyadh, but Reigns tangling with Sami Zayn in a 'Champion vs. Champion' battle has been floated online by fans and industry critics for a while now.

That's if the PLE goes ahead as planned.
