AEW is seemingly on the verge of turning 'Jungle Boy' Jack Perry heel.

Following recent teases on AEW television, Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Perry appears to be set for a turn, seemingly betraying current tag team partner HOOK in the process.

There is currently no word on when, exactly, AEW will look to execute the turn. Jungle Boy is currently set to face IWGP Heavyweight Champion SANADA at Forbidden Door 2023 this Sunday (25 June), facing the NJPW star in what will be one of the biggest singles matches of his young wrestling career.

HOOK will be at ringside for Perry vs. SANADA.

Perry has played a babyface since coming into AEW as one of its original batch of recruits in 2019. Identified as one of the company's 'Four Pillars' in 2021, he has gradually risen in prominence throughout his tenure - and recently fought for the World Championship at Double Or Nothing 2023.

SANADA had some strong words for Perry earlier in the week, ripping into Jungle Boy via Tokyo Sports:-

“I have no knowledge of Jack Perry. It’s sad to see someone like that challenge for the IWGP. Is an open challenge really that easy to decide? It’s the IWGP, I think it’s worth more than the AEW Championship.”
