AEW will crown a new World Champion on next week's special Grand Slam episode of Dynamite, was the Grand Slam Tournament Of Champions concludes at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

Two semi-finals played out on last night's Dynamite. The first saw Jon Moxley conquer Sammy Guevara in the opener, overcoming a failed interference from Tay Melo and Anna Jay to thwart the mouthy heel, who had given Mox trouble with his speed and agility advantage throughout.

This established Mox's spot in the Grand Slam main event. Later, Bryan Danielson defeated Chris Jericho to set up an all-Blackpool Combat Club clash, with the duo staring each other down to close the show.

Danielson's win over Jericho reversed All Out 2022, where the Jericho Appreciation Society leader defeated the American Dragon. Last night, Danielson outclassed Jericho, wrestling-wise, forcing the former World Champion to wait for openings and seize on injuries, which almost brought him a second victory over Bryan.

AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan announced last week that CM Punk had been stripped of the World Championship due to serious injury. Punk, whose AEW future currently hangs in the balance for his role in the post-All Out 2022 brawl, faces a 6-9 months on the sidelines through a torn triceps suffered at the 4 September pay-per-view.
