Huge Update On Andrade El Idolo's Continued AEW Absence
Big news on Andrade El Idolo, absent from AEW since brawling with Sammy Guevara in October.
Andrade El Idolo's absence from AEW continues, with the La Faccion Ingobernable star still absent from company television since a backstage incident with Sammy Guevara saw El Idolo throw a punch in early October - and end up getting sent home as a result.
The former WWE star's future has remained a steady topic of conversation since then. With the Guevara incident occurring amidst reports that WWE had reached out to several former talents currently contracted to AEW over possible returns, Dave Meltzer reported that El Idolo was actively "trying to get fired" from the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.
Now, Andrade's absence is set to continue for an entirely different reason.
El Idolo hit Twitter on Monday evening to reveal that he tore a pectoral a few months ago. As a result, he has gone under the knife for the first time in his career, lengthening his time away from AEW television.
My first surgery I can't believe it happened.A few months ago,I tore my pectoral. Thanks god!I could and wanted to finish my match.I kept working because I love the business but we know that many people do not value your effort, these days off I took the opportunity to go to Dr. pic.twitter.com/7ah5ax2bEe

Andrade has not competed since working a ladder match at All Out 2022 on 4 September. There is currently no word on how long he will be out injured for, though a high-grade pectoral tear can take around 3-4 months to heal.
All the best to El Idolo in his recovery.
