Forbidden Door will take AEW's wrestling buffet approach to the next level at Forbidden Door 2024, potentially incorporating CMLL and Stardom when the company hit Long Island on June 30th.

This is according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, who reported following a conversation with AEW and NJPW Vice President Rocky Romero. Per a Select report;

"Romero told Fightful that STARDOM will "definitely" be a part of this year's Forbidden Door, and said that CMLL "very likely" will. He followed up and says after that, the sky is the limit."

Forbidden Door has previously featured talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling wrestling stars from AEW since its 2022 inception, but with the likes of Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay jumping ship between the two promotions, the card was looking more difficult than normal to assemble. Stardom and CMLL talents could plug those gaps, and encourage more stories being told across the wider wrestling landscape with potentially four rosters to pick and choose from.

Romero clarified that the show would "always be an NJPW/AEW co-branded show", but for now at least, the benefits of opening it up beyond the two companies seem to far outweigh any possible negatives.
