A mouth-watering tag team encounter between four of SmackDown's top stars was teased throughout this Friday's show.
After Daniel Bryan had challenged Roman Reigns to a Universal Championship match at the upcoming Fastlane PPV early on, Jey Uso stated that the winner of the SmackDown Elimination Chamber must first go through him in order to get his wish.
This seemingly forced a change of direction as Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville both revealed they'd originally considered an Edge and Bryan vs. 'The Tribal Chief' and his cousin encounter for the Fastlane show. Yet, in light of 'The Leader of the Yes Movement's request, it looked like that idea would be scrapped if he came out on top against Uso.
As it turned out, Bryan would not be successful in his quest, with both men succumbing to a double count-out finish. Yet, Reigns' subsequent beatdown of the former WWE Champion seems to suggest that things could be far from over between the two.
Would Edge and Bryan be able to co-exist long enough to see off the despicable duo? If last night was anything to go by, we may not have to wait too long to find out.
