Hulk Hogan Claims Vince McMahon Didn't Fire Him From WWE

New comments from Hogan on what happened the night he was fired by WWE.

Hulk Hogan has claimed that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wasn't the one that fired him from WWE due to racist comments. According to an interview with Sports Illustrated, he says it was Triple H who fired him over the phone.
"I never talked to Vince. The only person I talked to was Triple H. I called him and told him there was some old news coming out from when TMZ first reported the tape and there were some racial slurs on it. Triple H said, €˜OK, thanks for calling. Let me talk to Vince.€™ He called me back a half hour later and he goes, €˜I€™ve got some news and it isn€™t good. Vince said that you need to resign.€™ I never heard from Vince or talked to Vince. In the middle of the night, they just fired me.€
The reason Hogan was fired is because he made racist comments that were revealed by the National Enquirer on a sex tape from 2006. Since then, WWE has fired Hogan and tried to erase anything having to do with him, although they did show Sting beating him at Starrcade 1997 on Raw this week. Hogan used a familiar WWE phrase to explain why he was fired:
"They had to do what was best for business. Triple H was telling me the USA Network was reacting very badly, and they had to make a quick decision, and that was to put me out to pasture. They were under heavy fire and they were scrambling.€
He admitted that he said the racist comments, but that's not the kind of man that he is:
€œI€™m accountable for it, and I€™m so sorry. But the real people who know me, they know I€™m not a racist."
Hogan said that he would love the chance to speak with Vince McMahon and sort this out because they have known each other for over 30 years. Hogan also made it clear that WWE is the only place he wants to work in wrestling:
"The only place for me to be would be the WWE. That€™s where my home is."
Do you think WWE Chairman Vince McMahon should talk to him and welcome him back or should WWE stay away from the Hulkster for good?
