Hulk Hogan Confirmed For WWE Crown Jewel?

GSA head basically confirms all morals out of the window.

Hulk Hogan Crown Jewel

It seems Hulk Hogan's depressingly inevitable return to a WWE ring could be just around the corner - and it couldn't come at a more appropriate show.

Turki al-Asheikh, head of the Saudi Arabian General Sports Authority - the governmental arm responsible for striking WWE's Middle Eastern mega-deal - made a post on his Twitter account which was simply an ancient image of Hogan, and a line of Arabic text roughly translating as, "What's this World Cup that everybody is talking about?"

It doesn't take Sherlockian-levels of sleuthing to deduce al-Asheikh is referring to Crown Jewel - WWE's latest venture in the Kingdom. The supershow, scheduled for Riyadh on 2 November, has an advertised (and vaguely defined) 'World Cup' lined up for the card. Hogan - in line with Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman's previous requests for Yokozuna and The Ultimate Warrior - would be a perfect fit. It's probable he was requested for the Greatest Royal Rumble, but he was still officially a racist then.

If this is the stage WWE choose for Hogan's long-expected in-ring comeback, it couldn't be more appropriate. The company has already thrown any ethical considerations out the window in prostituting themselves to their Saudi partners; they might as well go all in by reintroducing the Hulkster.

If we were Hogan, we'd politely refuse the invitation; indirectly endorsing misogyny is not the best look for someone trying to rehabilitate their image. But then again, if we were Hogan, we'd probably be incapable of seeing beyond that vast desert of cash.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
