If WWE Superstars Were Football Teams...

6. Bret Hart - Ajax

A shift in ethos in the wrestling industry quickly meant there was no longer any place for the classy, technically gifted Bret Hart, with his inability to move with the times ultimately leaving him awash.

Ergo, the 'Excellence of Execution' would fit right in as Dutch club Ajax's primary sharpshooter. Like Bret, Ajax were soon left in the dust as the increasing riches of Europe's elite left them unable to keep up.

An elegant outfit spearheaded by Johann Cruyff, Ajax refused to budge on their long-standing principles as the modern game shifted in favour of those with money ahead of those with tactical innovation and a great belief in nurturing talent.

Bret and Ajax are thus one and the same. Great exponents of their sport, that ultimately let their own integrity stand in the way of prolonged success.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
