Influential AEW Figure Opening Wrestling School
Another AEW staffer moving into the training world? Can't be a bad thing.
All Elite Wrestling's Jerry Lynn is to be involved in the reopening of a wrestling school.
The ECW legend confirmed as much earlier in the week, announcing his participation in the revived FXE Wrestling Training and Performance Academy with the following tweet:-
After years of being asked,”When are you going to open a school?”
It’s finally happened! Check us out, you won’t regret it! Hendersonville,TN. pic.twitter.com/6FCl3hthm4— Jerry Lynn (@itsjerrylynn) April 18, 2022
NWA wrestler Thom Latimer and the Shawn Michaels-trained AJ Gallant will also serve as trainers at the school.
Originally based in Orlando, Florida, the FXE Pro Wrestling Academy was first established in 2004. This new, renamed school will operate out of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
FXE's official website features the following mission statement:-
The legacy of the initial FXE Pro Wrestling Academy continues on through its many pupils who remain mainstays of the Florida independent wrestling scene, as well as those who have obtained nationwide exposure; such graduates include "Filthy" Tom Lawlor, currently signed to Major League Wrestling, and senior referee Scott Wheeler, currently seen on NWA Powerrr, a professional wrestling streaming television program produced by the National Wrestling Alliance. Now, the next chapter in FXE is set to begin with the re-launch of the brand new FXE Wrestling Training & Performance Academy in 2022 emanating out of Nashville, TN! AJ Gallant, along with new partner Kailen Goddard, are excited to showcase a state-of-the-art facility to a brand new generation of pro wrestling hopefuls.
Lynn, 58, is highly regarded for his work in AEW, where he has served as a coach and producer since 2019. The former ECW World Champion has appeared on-camera several times as well, though he has never been presented as a regular television character.
