Having recently wrestled his first match in over a year, Scorpio Sky was pulled from last week's AEW Rampage due to an injury, and now there's an update on the former SCU man's status.

Speaking during a Q&A session on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp noted how Sky is out of action for an unknown amount of time due to a "freak accident".

As Sapp detailed when asked about Scorpio:

“A freak accident is what I’ve been told. Just an absolute freak accident. Nobody knows how long he’ll be out. He was on crutches at the show, though.”

Scorpio Sky was due to wrestle Kip Sabian on the 21 July episode of AEW Rampage, but was replaced by Kommander in that bout. Prior to that contest, Tony Khan addressed the Albany, New York crowd to announce that Sky was indeed injured.

As alluded to, Scorpio had gone one year and two days without competing for AEW up until his return to the ring on the 8 July outing for AEW Collision. There, the two-time TNT Champion defeated Action Andretti in Sky's first match since losing to Wardlow on the 6 July 2022 episode of Dynamite.

Here's hoping that whatever is keeping Scorpio Sky out of action isn't anything too serious and that the hugely talented 40-year-old is back between the ropes sooner rather than later.
