Rumours abound that The Boogeyman could be set for a WWE TV return sooner rather than later.

Scuttlebutt started when Boogeyman himself posted a video on his official Twitter account - the vid showed Boogey putting pen to paper on a WWE contract. That piqued attention amongst fans, and led to chatter that the worm-eating nightmare will pop back up on Raw or SmackDown shortly.

Not so fast.

Boogeyman originally inked that deal back on 10 December 2021. He was simply reposting the same video and saying "thank you" to Vince McMahon for continuing to keep him around. Also, the contract is a WWE Legends agreement; it isn't a full-time WWE contract.

This doesn't mean that The Boogeyman won't be used for cameo appearances throughout 2022. In fact, it's almost guaranteed that he'll show up around Halloween time in some form or fashion. There's always a chance that he'll don the face paints for a quick backstage moment at WrestleMania 38 too.

The 57-year old wrestler had previously said that he'd be up for another run in the company. He wants McMahon to "let [him] run with the ball".
