Is EC3 Done With WWE To Join AEW?

WWE star has "big things coming in the future", according to AEW's Chris Jericho...

EC3 WWE

AEW Champion Chris Jericho posted an interesting picture of he and WWE star EC3 on his Instagram account today.

The pic, which shows Jericho and EC3 enjoying a few drinks, has received a ton of attention from industry insiders and fans alike. One fan commented on the photo with a snappy, "WWE is going to offer him a sh*t ton of money now. Good job, Jericho!".

Last month, WWE abandoned their attempts to trademark EC3's ring name. That original application (filed in June 2019) had been denied because the company failed to respond to the initial notice of refusal within the given six month period.

Could something be afoot? Is EC3 rebelling against the WWE system, or was this just two pals hanging out having a chat for Jericho's podcast?

EC3 hasn't actually wrestled a match for WWE since appearing on the 30 September 2019 edition of basement show Main Event. His last in-ring appearance on Raw came seven nights earlier on 23 September, and fans have been questioning his future ever since.

It's worth noting that Jericho's caption for the pic said EC3 had "big things coming in the future". That's either a fat wage rise so WWE can keep him or a move to AEW if he's released.
