PWInsider Elite has revealed that reigning Women's World Champion and breakout main roster success Stephanie Vaquer is banged up, but the ankle injury she's been selling on TV isn't expected to keep her on the bench for too long - WWE remain precautionary though, because the last thing they want to do is exacerbate things and force Vaquer to miss WrestleMania season.

That'd be a nightmare for her and for the company.

This past Monday's edition of flagship show Raw saw Stephanie appear with a walking boot. The commentary team acknowledged that when she was shown backstage, then Vaquer herself told Jackie Redmond during an in-ring interview segment that she'd power through the pain as soon as humanly possible.

In short, Steph was telling the truth. This was one of the most forthright and honest promos on WWE television you're ever likely to see. She isn't lying about being hurt, but the injury shouldn't stop her from working matches within a few weeks.

Raquel Rodriguez ambushed Vaquer during the promo skit and attacked the injured ankle. The heel also tried to smash up Stephanie's leg further using a steel chair, then continued her aggression behind the curtain.

Vaquer defeated both Rodriguez and Nikki Bella in a Triple Threat bout on the 29 December 2025 Raw. That could be her last match for a short while as she continues to recover from this setback. WWE will be praying to the pro wrestling Gods that Stephanie is fit and raring to go for major events like Royal Rumble, 'Mania 42 and more.
