It Has Finally Been Found: The Worst Wrestling Opinion

Vince Russo WCW

You might argue these are carefully selected quotes to support the central argument of the article, but f*ck: they're not positive.

He didn't just say AEW was bad, or that this single segment was bad; he also said earlier in the show that this segment "epitomised" the problems AEW had with its booking before 2020's upturn. In a macro sense, he compared AEW to Vince Russo's WCW. This followed another harsh critique weeks earlier, in which he claimed that AEW was "turning into" TNA. Meltzer on record compared AEW to two Vince Russo products, and neither of them was the one that wasn't a complete, industry-killing farce. And yet, he is biased towards AEW (!).

Yes, the reception towards AEW, pre and post-crisis, has been far more positive in 2020. It is almost as if the opinions of Dave Meltzer, myself, and others are fluid, and subject to fluctuation depending on the quality of the respective shows! Raw will do well to beat Dynamite this week, because it was ace - listen to me rave about it here! I worry about the AEW midcard title after the tournament! "If it was WWE" risking the safety of a 64 year-old former addict amid a global health crisis, I'd hate that too!

*Togi Makabe intensifies*

Oi! F*ck off!
