It's Official: The AEW Roster Is FAR Too Big

AEW once sought to become the sports-oriented league that presented fixtures to determine the rankings system.

There are so many wrestlers involved in so many programmes now that the amount of brawling makes the fictional universe feel cartoonish. It's wrestling. Fights are going to happen. But the lack of moderation in putting the roster together has created another moderation problem, in that multiple multi-person brawls break out at a rate of about one every 15 minutes.

It's wacky. It's even more wacky when you consider that this gigantic roster all congregates in the same small space next to Tony Schiavone backstage, if those constantly interrupted segments are anything to go by. If the roof of any arena that plays host to Dynamite was transparent, and a drone flew over it, the scene would look preposterous. On this week's Dynamite, Ruby Soho interrupted Red Velvet. She said she had just happened to pass by. You and about 100 other wrestlers, yes.

You could make the argument that all of this reads as very spoiled - wah, wah, Dynamite is too stacked! - but it's Tony Khan's job as booker to both effectively promote his talents as stars and allow his storylines to register to maximum dramatic effect.

Is he doing that right now?
