Viking Raiders member Ivar suffered a legitimate injury while wrestling on last night's WWE Raw.

He and partner Erik were teaming with Apollo Crews and Ricochet to face The Hurt Business, including new member Cedric Alexander. The match played out without incident until close to the end, when the big man launched himself through the ropes with a big dive, only to seemingly make an awkward landing.

Ivar immediately started throwing-up the industry-standard X signal with his arms to communicate that there was an issue, while Alexander scored a pinfall on Ricochet inside the ring.

Medical staff tended to Ivar in the aftermath. WWE has now released the following update:-

"During the Eight-Man Tag Team Match on Monday Night Raw, Ivar suffered a cervical injury on a Viking Dive to the floor. As a precaution, Ivar was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery."

PWInsider has followed-up, confirming that the injury is real, not worked. Their writeup describes the injury as a "stinger" though further details aren't yet forthcoming. There's no word on the extent of Ivar's issues or how long he may be out for, if at all.

Fingers crossed the big man is alright.
