“They say that all great warriors must fall one day…”

Last night saw wrestling legend Jazz head into retirement after losing a Career vs. Title bout against IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo.

At IMPACT’s Hardcore Justice PPV, Purrazzo toppled her veteran opponent after hitting the Queen’s Gambit for the victory – seemingly bringing an end to the 23-year career of Jazz.

Having made her in-ring bow in 1998, Jazz first came to mainstream prominence after competing for ECW across 1999 and into 2000. After that, the talented badass would land in the then-WWF at the 2001 Survivor Series, and she’d soon best Trish Stratus to become the WWF Women’s Champion.

Jazz’s two tenures with WWE saw her win the Women’s Championship twice, while her biggest non-WWE career highlight is likely her over 900 day reign as the NWA Women’s Champion.

Where Purrazzo is concerned, up next for the current Knockouts Champion is Tanille Dashwood, who overcame Jordynne Grace, Rosemary, Susan, Havok and Alisha Edwards at Hardcore Justice to become the new #1 contender for the Virtuosa’s prize.

As it stands, Purrazzo vs. Dashwood will go down at IMPACT’s Rebellion PPV on 25 April.
