In what might be one of the least shocking - but still pretty exhilarating - "surprise" debuts, Jeff Hardy showed up on AEW Dynamite Wednesday night to save his brother Matt from a beating at the hands of his former cohorts in the Andrade-Hardy Family Office. The appearance came at the earliest possible date, with Jeff's non-compete deal with WWE just ending.

Matt had been showing discontent with the AHFO in recent weeks, walking out on a match involving Private Party and expressing his frustration. Most recently, he said he regretted his actions and letting down the young Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy and vowed to do better by then.

But during an emergency board meeting on Dynamite - which took place in the ring because of course, that's where board meetings take place - Private Party turned on Hardy and joined Andrade in kicking Matt out of the organization he founded. With Butcher & the Blade and Jose the assistant joining them, it was a 6-on-1 beatdown until Darby Allin & Sting made the save, but they were quickly overcome as well.

Finally, it was Jeff Hardy, coming out to the Hardy Boyz' old WWF/E theme song, to save the day and clear the ring. The brothers reunited to close the segment, reuniting one of the biggest tag teams of the past 25 years.

Jeff Hardy was released from WWE in December after he walked out on a tag match during a house show. Reportedly, Hardy was offered an opportunity to go to rehab, but he refused, leading to the release. Hardy's waning days in WWE were spent jobbing on Raw to Damian Priest, Austin Theory and Karrion Kross before picking up a couple of wins after being drafted to SmackDown.
