Jeff Hardy Returning To WWE SmackDown?

Don't you see the writing on the wall?

PWInsider confirmed that former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy was indeed backstage for last night's episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

We haven't seen Hardy appear in a WWE ring since he was devoured by Lars Sullivan (remember him?) in April 2019 and he was forced to vacate the SmackDown Tag titles with his brother due to a leg injury.

Hardy's expected recovery time was said to be around 6-9 months and that means he should be on his way back to the ring in the very near future.

Well, as it goes, Hardy may be about to return to the blue brand as he was spotted backstage at last night's tapings of the Friday night show.

Hardy is also scheduled to be backstage for next week's show, too. So, could we see the 'Charismatic Enigma' pop up again on SmackDown before we reach WrestleMania? Or will WWE hold off on the return and have him wrestle a few dark matches in order to brush off the ring rust?

It's also a very different landscape to the one that he left in April of last year, as his brother Matt now looks to be on his way out of the company - possibly to become AEW's 'exalted one'.

Fingers crossed we see Jeff wrestling again sooner rather than later, as he would definitely add more star power to a sometimes stale feeling SmackDown product.
