WWE Hall of Famer and current SmackDown colour commentator Jerry 'The King' Lawler has been arrested for domestic violence.

As a result, WWE.com has confirmed that Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely.

Eyewitness News 3 (Memphis WFSB.com) broke the news, and Lawler's fiance also finds herself behind bars following the altercation.

The 66 year old Lawler and 27 year old Lauryn McBride allegedly got into a serious argument when McBride lied to Lawler about where she had been. The argument supposedly turned ugly fast, with Memphis Police told that Lawler held McBride against the kitchen counter and hit her in the head, after which he presented her with an (unloaded) gun and told her to kill herself.

Lawler himself reportedly told police that McBride scratched him in the face, kicked him the groin and threw a candle at him. The police report also states that Lawler claims McBride was drunk and threatening to kill herself. Memphis Police were unable to determine who started the fight, and arrested both as a result.

WWE has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to domestic violence, stating that 'Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated'.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
