Good news for Jerry Lawler, bad news for David Otunga, The King can now return back to the SmackDown announce booth.

WWE have announced that Jerry Lawler's suspension has now been lifted after all domestic abuse charges against the veteran wrestler/colour commentator were dropped this week.

WWE's website broke the news with a short statement:

"Jerry Lawler’s legal matter has been resolved and his suspension has been lifted, effective immediately."

On June 17th, Lawler, 66, and his fiance Lauryn McBridge, 27, were both arrested on domestic assault charges. She called the police on him, but they couldn't quite figure out who started the incident, and took them both in.

Lawler blamed her alcohol consumption earlier in the night on what led to their fight, and claimed that she scratched his face. A gun was also found in the room, which she said he told her to kill herself with. King denied he ever said that.

With the suspension lifted, there's no reason to think that Lawler won't take his throne back on SmackDown this week.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
