Jey & Jimmy Uso Reunite For First True Tag Team Match Since 2023 (WWE News)

Monday's WWE Raw in Glasgow, Scotland has been a long time coming for The Usos.

Monday's episode of Raw in Glasgow, Scotland saw one of the best brother tag-teams in history reunite in an official standard tag match for the first time in almost two years. WWE booked none other than Jimmy Usos as his sibling Jey's surprise mystery partner for a match vs. A-Town Down Under pair Austin Theory and Grayson Waller on the flagship.

Rather unsurprisingly, it was Jimmy and Jey who came out on top with the victory, but there were some post-match shenanigans too. Reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion and all-round grappling android Gunther attacked The Usos. He initially got the best of Jey before Jimmy chased him off with a steel chair.

That sets up more to come on following episodes, including a Gunther vs. Jimmy Uso match next week.

Again, this is the first time Jimmy and Jey had teamed together as a strict double act in close to two long years. The pair did unite as part of The Bloodline at Survivor Series: War Games late last year, but they were also joined by teammates Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn and CM Punk on that occasion. For reference, this was the first two-on-two tag the brothers had wrestled since beating Reigns and Solo Sikoa way back at Money In The Bank 2023.

That show also took place in the UK (London, England), and was a banner night for Jey in particular. He scored a rare pinfall win over Reigns via frog splash - that marked Roman's first pinfall defeat since the TLC 2019 pay-per-view, so it held weight with the audience and felt like a real show of faith in 'Main Event' Jey from upper management.

Jey Uso Primed To Take Gunther World Title At WrestleMania 41?

Many fans believe that Triple H will come through for Jey Uso by crowning him the new World Heavyweight Champ at WrestleMania 41 in Last Vegas next month. All signs certainly point towards that happening, but there's always a chance WWE will stick by a pure wrestling machine like Gunther instead. However, the booking and build towards this match has all the hallmarks of 'heel ready to slip on banana peel come the big night'.

WWE know they'd get a monster pop in Allegiant Stadium on either 19 or 20 April if Jey won the belt then celebrated with a booming live crowd. This kind of moment has been a long time coming for shock Royal Rumble 2025 winner Uso. It seems like his flirtations with the midcard Intercontinental Title were merely an appetiser for bigger things to come.

Can he finish his own story in Vegas this April? If so, then what? It's possible Hunter could pivot towards another brother vs. brother war between Jimmy and Jey over the strap. Their last match didn't exactly go as planned though. A plodding 11 minute effort at 'Mania 40 in 2024 disappointed, but it's surely inconceivable that they'd stink up the ring a second time if WWE gave the bros another chance.

Only time will tell on that front. For now, it looks like full steam ahead in terms of Jey bagging the World Title and becoming Raw's top babyface post-WrestleMania.
