John Cena Confirmed For Tonight's WWE Raw
Cena hits Raw after confronting SmackDown's Roman Reigns at Money In The Bank.
WWE has confirmed that John Cena will open tonight's edition of Raw in Dallas.
The company are teasing that Cena will reveal his "motivations" for returning at Money In The Bank on Sunday night. There, John confronted Roman Reigns after the Universal Champ had defended in the main event against Edge, and it's believed that JC vs. Reigns is a stick on for SummerSlam on 21 August.
So, why is Cena on Raw?
'Ratings' is the most likely answer. WWE know that kicking off the red brand's latest with Cena will put eyeballs on the show, but they might also fancy teasing a match with someone on Raw before switching John over to SmackDown during the build towards SummerSlam.
Why not, eh?
WWE said that Cena wouldn't "make you wait for answers". They're hyping this appearance hard, and clearly hoping that John's presence makes a difference to Raw's numbers. It's not ridiculous to suggest that Cena could, in theory, just say that he'll be on SmackDown come Friday night and leave it at that.
He'll only be around for a short spell anyway, so milking every appearance they can out of John is smart business from WWE.
