John Cena Promises To Ruin Wrestling For Everyone Ahead Of WrestleMania 41 (WWE News)

John Cena's out to ruin wrestling for EVERYONE.

As we continue on the patented Road to WrestleMania, John Cena isn't just planning to take the WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes in a few weeks, but rather Big Match Cena intends to ruin wrestling for everyone.

Opening last night's WWE Raw, Cena cut a promo where he once again mocked the fans, before honing in on the criticism he received from certain quarters when he introduced the opinion-splitting Spinner Championship back in 2005. Of course, some labelled that title as a toy, with John now promising to take the WWE Championship from Cody at 'Mania, retire with that title, and then leave everyone else competing for a "brand-new toy belt".

Cena doubled down on how the WWE Championship is at the centre of the very wrestling business when it comes to the wrestlers and the fans, promising to defeat the American Nightmare at the Showcase of the Immortals, cement that record-setting 17th, and make everyone forget the name of Ric Flair; Flair being the person, in WWE's narrative, who Cena is tied with on 16 World Titles.

To further push the idea of John Cena taking the WWE Championship with him into retirement, WWE Shop already has a new Last Real Champion t-shirt listed for $34.99.

Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena

Much like last week's WWE Raw, this week's red brand offering saw John Cena eventually interrupted by his WrestleMania 41 opponent, Cody Rhodes.

Cody pointed out the minor detail of how, if Cena wants to take the WWE Title into retirement, he first has to take it from Rhodes. While we had the tease of a physical confrontation between the two, Cena ultimately walked away in silence. With that, Cody stated how the Massachusetts native would not just walk away empty-handed at WrestleMania, but he'll also walk away empty-handed from WWE when all is said and done with Cena's career.

As the beef between Cena and Rhodes rumbles on, the two have already been announced for a face-to-face on next week's Raw from London's O2 as WWE starts to wrap up its ongoing European tour. And while Cena has given some motivation for his heel turn over these past two weeks, one name notably not mentioned by either John or Cody is a certain Final Boss. Will Cena's alliance with The Rock finally get brought up next Monday, or will we just continue the Cena vs. Fans path we've been on for the last few weeks?

Emanating from Paradise, Nevada's Allegiant Stadium, WrestleMania 41 takes place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April.
