John Cena Shoots On Hosting WWE Payback

WWE returnee John Cena didn't mince his words when discussing Payback.

John Cena told WWE cameras he "doesn't even know what that means" in regards to hosting this weekend's Payback PLE.

The major returnee, who bounced back onto screens via Friday's episode of SmackDown, has been installed as the anchor for WWE's latest pay-per-view. Joking, Cena said he might pin down The Miz and ask him what the gig is all about, because Miz has some experience there.

This is alien turf for JC, basically, and presumably not how he expected to be used for Payback.

Cena worked an opening segment with Jimmy Uso on Friday, and even hit the on/off Bloodline member with an Attitude Adjustment. Many fans online speculate that this will lead to a match, with some even pitching it for Payback. That's unlikely, especially when John is on hosting duties.

Again, he's not quite sure how to define his role for the PLE, but did use the host thing as a means to put Miz over - there's a lot of mutual respect there. During his post-SmackDown promo, it became clear that Cena doesn't really have much to say about hosting Payback.
