If this WWE star doesn't live up to their potential, John Cena will be demanding an apology...

WWE legend John Cena put up-and-comer Theory over huge on Twitter yesterday, though his compliments came with a caveat.

Their interactions started when Theory tagged Cena in a tweet claiming that he was a better United States Champion than the era-defining megastar ever was:-

In response, Cena quote-tweeted that while Theory has "far more talent, strength, and gifts" than he ever did, the 24-year-old would be due to apologise if he hadn't put in the effort to cement his legacy within 20 years:-

Following up, Theory condescended his forebearer, thanking him for being a fan:-

Interestingly, these interactions came just an hour after a report broke stating that Vince McMahon sees traces of John Cena in Theory. The WWE Chairman and CEO is to give his hand-picked protege every chance of success, which isn't surprising, given the duo have been tethered together onscreen for much of 2022.

Theory claimed the United States Championship (his first belt in WWE) on last week's episode of Raw. Defeating Finn Balor, he was joined by a group of undercard heels for an in-ring celebration before Vince himself joined him on the ramp, posing for a selfie.
