Serena Deeb was dethroned as NWA Women's Champion on Sunday, falling to Kamille at the When Our Shadows Fall pay-per-view.

Kamille ended up pinning Deeb after hitting an impactful Spear on the smaller woman. This is the up-and-comer's first spell with the belt, with Serena's reign ending on 228 days.

A featured performer since NWA Powerrr debuted in 2019, Kamille had originally been presented as World Champion Nick Aldis' strong, silent valet, gradually growing in range as the series progressed.

Her first match was a straightforward squash of Madi Maxx broadcast on 12 May 2020, after the NWA had effectively shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When Powerrr returned earlier this year, Kamille was pushed right out of the gate, culminating in her big win over Serena last night.

Deeb had stood as NWA Women's Champion since taking the belt from Thunder Rosa on a UWN show in October 2020. Her run brought successful defences against the likes of Rosa, Tay Conti, and Riho, all on AEW television, having signed with Tony Khan's promotion in September 2020. Whether or not she will continue appearing for the NWA remains to be seen.
