The team actually led to some incredible moments in Kane's character development, namely his friendship with X-Pac willing him to be able to gain the ability to speak. The duo even had custom theme music, earned the Tag Team Championships. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mN0F9rfTlk Eventually, after X-Pac and Kane's breakup, Tori decided she wanted to date X-Pac more, stemming from being forced to spend a Christmas weekend with him and illicit hijinks occurring. The subsequent affair involved X-Pac stealing Tori from him, and Tori becoming X-Pac's valet in the re-formed Degeneration X. In being one of the more compelling stories told during the Attitude Era, it's end with Kane's character being left abused and heartbroken certainly makes it worth noting as "disturbing," too.
