One of the most memorable recent examples of taking something potentially terrible and turning it into absolute gold. Kane received a new lease of life in this story, and Daniel Bryan continued his rise to being the most popular wrestler of an entire generation. And to think it all started with AJ Lee..

Bryan and Kane spent most of the summer trying to win the WWE Championship and AJ Lee's affections, and were ultimately unsuccessful in both. This led to them going off against each other, before the object of their failed affections decided to put both into Anger Management classes together. The result was beautiful.

After a segment on RAW where an entire crowd pleaded with two men to hug, Daniel Bryan and Kane became the most unlikely of best friends, winning tag gold (well, copper by now) by defeating Kofi Kingston and R-Truth.

They would eventually lose their titles to Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins of The Shield, but the glory days of Team Hell No live long in the memory.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
