Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows Heading Straight To WWE Main Roster?
Will "Balor Club" debut sooner than thought?
Plans have changed for incoming WWE superstars Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, according to PWInsider. While the former IWGP Tag Team Champions were originally scheduled to debut with the NXT brand upon their arrival in the company, they're now expected to make their debut on the main roster "around WrestleMania 32 time." The team is still scheduled to compete as a unit with Finn Balor - either under the name "Balor Club" or "Bulletproof" - indicating that the current NXT Champion is also likely on his way to the main roster. While initially, WWE had planned on keeping Balor with the developmental brand through the end of the year and positioning him as the "Face of NXT," it's possible that the need for new main event talent convinced decision-makers to call him up earlier. Balor, Anderson, and Gallows were all members of the New Japan stable "Bullet Club," a group of foreign heels who upset the Japanese wrestling paradigm by making American-style tropes (such as outside interference) a major part of their matches. Over the past three years, Bullet Club has helped New Japan gain incredible popularity in English-speaking countries. Balor left New Japan in 2014 to join NXT, while Anderson and Gallows (along with Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles) first made their intentions to head to WWE known earlier this year. Since then, Balor's own promotion of the "Balor Club" name on social media has indicated that the company plans to use the three men as a group.
