Kenny Omega And Xavier Woods Set To Clash In An E3 Showdown
Xavier Woods and Kenny Omega to face each other, but not in a pro-wrestling match.
WWE Superstar Xavier Woods and NJPW Superstar Kenny Omega are set to face each other in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition during the video game expo, E3 on Thursday, June 14 at the Capcom Booth.
This is not the first time that these two professional wrestlers are locking horns against each other in a video game. At the Community Effort Orlando (CEO) event in 2016, the "Cleaner" and New Day's trombonist crossed swords playing street fighter. Kenny Omega came on top at that time. However, in their 2017 rematch, they played Tekken 7 and Xavier Woods got the upper hand.
Kenny Omega incited Xavier Woods by showing off his astounding Street Fighter skills and tagged him on Twitter. As a result, Xavier Woods got provoked and challenged him to a match so that he could stop gloating his skills. Kenny Omega would respond in affirmative and ask for a place and time for the rubber match. Finally, the official Street Fighter twitter account had interfered and made this match official during the E3 exhibition.
One interesting takeaway from the contest is that it will be a 3-on-3 showdown. Xavier Woods went on to say that Kenny Omega doesn't have friends and the contest would become a 3-on-1 handicap match. In the end, Kenny Omega called AJ Styles for help but to no avail.
E3 is a three-day event that will begin on June 12 and finish on June 14. The viewers can watch this showdown on Youtube and Twitch live. While wrestlers from WWE and NJPW can't face each other in a wrestling match, it doesn't stop them from battling in a video game showdown.
