Kenny Omega told reporters for Tokyo Sports that he is "100%" staying put in Japan and isn't entertaining questions about signing for WWE.

On January 4, 2018, Omega will defend his IWGP United States Title against WWE stalwart Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12. The announcement of the match has caused questions about both Jericho's relationship with Vince McMahon and the possibility of Omega jumping to WWE in the near future.

According to the champ, that's not going to happen. Omega repeated something he has said in previous interviews, claiming he is happy in Japan because NJPW is a place where "wrestlers can be themselves and fight for themselves".

Interestingly, the Tokyo Sports article says there is no doubt WWE would have an interest in Omega, and also cited the previous signing of Shinsuke Nakamura as evidence. There is a chance that some phrasing could have been lost in translation, but the interviewer clearly wanted to quiz Omega on North American wrestling.

For now, the Bullet Club member isn't having any of it and repeated his loyalty to New Japan and Japanese wrestling in general.
