Kenny Omega Takes Digs At AEW Newcomer Will Ospreay

AEW's Kenny Omega just couldn't resist taking a shot at Will Ospreay's matches.

AEW star Kenny Omega simultaneously praised and buried Will Ospreay's work in the same statement during an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.

Omega put over how well Ospreay has done in New Japan Pro Wrestling, but then said he's had "a list of 20 very forgettable five-star matches". When Sapp pinned Kenny down and asked him to elaborate, the former AEW World Champion said "the current ratings system" is responsible for those five-star efforts.

Of course, Omega is referring to Dave Meltzer's star ratings here.

Kenny earned a lot of stars himself during his time in New Japan, and he seems to believe that it's slightly easier to get high ratings today than it was back then; Omega went on to say that "the matches from back then were more memorable".

Then, he realised what was happening and laughed before adding: "I'm digging myself into a hole here". Ross Sapp didn't hold back when pointing out that Kenny was pretty blatantly dissing Ospreay's work publicly.

Omega did also say that "Will is great", but he happens to think that Jay White is the superior talent.
