According to a report from Fightful Select, Kevin Owens is the latest WWE employee to tell his paymasters that he does not wish to return to Saudi Arabia for the company's next big money trip to the Middle East.

There are no details at present as to why KO has elected to sit out June's Super Showdown, or whether WWE have accepted his request.

Both John Cena and Daniel Bryan refused to travel to the Kingdom for last October's Crown Jewel in the wake of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi's assassination, whilst Owens' close friend Sami Zayn did not travel to either of last year's shows due to the strained relationship between Syria and Saudi Arabia.

Owens lost his tilt at Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship at last Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Obviously, there's no possibility of a rematch in a fortnight's time given his stance of the Saudi show.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
