People who should know about the changes coming to WWE NXT have conceded that they will likely be amongst the last to learn anything, reports Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The write-up notes that all major decisions are being made outwith the usual NXT circle. Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, John Laurinaitis, Kevin Dunn, and Bruce Prichard are controlling traffic when it comes to rebranding, with that powerful group making the key choices.

This is in line with a recent Fightful Select report noting that the NXT talent they had spoken to on the upcoming changes had effectively been "left in the dark" on the matter.

As covered earlier, the touted McMahon/Prichard "takeover" will likely have more to do with big picture branding, direction, and marketing rather than day-to-day operations. In his latest report, Meltzer notes that McMahon's group will have more influence over who is pushed and protected on NXT, as well as deciding on any roster cuts.

For now, the initial story about Prichard and McMahon producing the weekly shows was incorrect. They will be around, and more involved in the decision-making process, but not in the weeds of weekly production.
