June 27, 2002. That was the first time John Cena had a match on WWE TV as a regular Superstar. Kurt Angle was in the ring doing a promo about how he wanted to face somebody he had never faced before. It was Cena that answered that challenge. Fans didn't know who Cena was. Cena told him his name and said he had the "ruthless aggression" to face Angle. They had a competitive match that Angle won by pinfall after hooking Cena's arms. What was great about it is that Cena took him to the limit. Great booking. Over the next three years, they feuded a few other times with Cena gaining steam as a babyface rapper and Angle did some hilarious rhymes to challenge him. Now that he's 37 years old and Angle is in his mid 40s, it would be cool to see them have at least one more match. Perhaps Angle could assume the heel role they had in the past or they could make it a battle of babyfaces. Either way, both guys are good enough to make it work. It's important to remember history in wrestling. In the case of Angle/Cena, there are a lot of great memories we can reminisce about. That's why it would be cool to see them create another memory or two.
