Latest On Sasha Banks' WWE Contract Status
What's going on with Sasha Banks? Is she even still under WWE contract?
The Wrestling Observer has moved to clear up rumours doing the rounds about Sasha Banks' WWE contract status. Those rumours suggested that Sasha's deal with the company had lapsed, but Dave Meltzer says that's not the case.
In fact, WWE have been keen to thrash out fresh terms that'd lock Banks into a longer deal. Nobody will be surprised to learn that several "hang-ups" have stopped that from happening just yet, but nothing is impossible at this stage.
There's still no word on exactly when Sasha will return to TV though.
She hasn't been seen since teaming with then-partner Naomi to beat Natalya and Shayna Baszler on the 13 April edition of SmackDown. Banks and Naomi stormed into WWE offices backstage at Raw shortly afterwards, slammed their Women's Tag belts down on the desk and then walked out.
To recap, Triple H is eager to sort things out and keep Sasha under WWE's umbrella. However, some key discussions lie ahead for both parties. It seems unlikely that Banks would ink a new deal with the promotion until several gripes are addressed.
This situation could roll on into 2023.
