Latest On Top Star's New Role On AEW Creative

Backstage update on one of AEW's biggest names helping out on creative.

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson continues to earn praise for his new role on AEW creative.

Corroborating the Wrestling Observer, Fightful Select reports that Danielson is being "lauded" for his input, with the former AEW World Championship contender seemingly playing a creative role in the first few weeks of Collision. Bryan has reportedly "been very valuable in speaking with talent about how they want their creative handled and the ways to communicate things between creative and talent."

Recent circumstances have led to Danielson's own creative being adjusted, however. 'The American Dragon' suffered a fractured forearm while working Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 last weekend. AEW had plans for him to work more bouts post-Forbidden Door, including July's Blood and Guts reprisal, though this will no longer be possible.

It was in mid-May that Fightful first reported that Danielson was due to start contributing to AEW creative ahead of Collision's launch. The new Saturday night brand's third episode airs tomorrow, 1 July.

There is currently no word on when Danielson will be permitted to return to AEW television following his Forbidden Door injury. His stable, the Blackpool Combat Club, face the Elite in Blood and Guts on Wednesday, 19 July.
