Latest On WWE's REAL Plans For The Rock
The Rock is back in WWE, but is he heading to WrestleMania or Australia?
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's return to WWE on this week's Raw intensified existing speculation on the crowded WrestleMania 40 scene - and Bryan Alvarez is confident that Rock will be involved in the biggest wrestling event of the year.
Alvarez said as much on Wrestling Observer Live, stating that The Rock won't be working Australia (for Elimination Chamber 2024), but 'Mania instead.
Johnson referenced Roman Reigns' nickname, 'The Head of the Table', on Raw, bringing the long-awaited dream match between the real-life family members back to the forefront of online wrestling discussion. This is despite long-held assumptions that Cody Rhodes would "finish the story" by defeating Reigns in the WrestleMania 40 main event.
Naturally, a match the magnitude of Rock vs. Reigns has been linked to 'Mania, even with Rhodes standing as WWE's strongest in-house babyface. Recent days have brought discussion that Rock/Reigns could take place at Elimination Chamber, however, as WWE needs to pack out the 70,000-capacity Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia on 24 February.
After Raw, Rock claimed that he was "just getting started" concerning his WWE return. The coming weeks will likely shed light on his WrestleMania 40 status.
