Latest Update On AEW: Fight Forever Excitement, Easter Eggs, Concerns & More
AEW: Fight Forever finally hits shelves in two weeks - here's an update on it.
Fightful Select has published a sizeable update on AEW: Fight Forever ahead of the long-awaited game's 29 June release.
On the positive side of things, the outlet notes that people who have already played Fight Forever think it will be a success due to its playability and multiplayer aspects.
The game is set to feature several easter eggs, including "size-based characters and weapons," though they won't all be easy for players to find. One of these easter eggs may revolve around the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch stipulation, which will feature two finishes in-game: one "stunning, brutal explosion," and a "dud" similar to that which played out in real life at Revolution 2021.
Kenny Omega, who has played a key role in developmental, called for Fight Forever to include mini-games - and insisted on the involvement of WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge director Hideyuki 'Geta' Iwashita in the project.
Elsewhere, Fight Forever's creation suite has been described as "limited" and not "expansive," drawing internal criticism. Concerns exist surrounding the story mode, specifically "repetitive clothing involved in other characters" who feature in this mode. It is understood that the developers faced limitations when putting the story itself together, though they sought input from some of the wrestlers involved.
AEW: Fight Forever releases on multiple platforms on 29 June. Although the promotion initially aimed for it to be a one-off release supported by updates and DLC packages, AEW has retained rights to the game engine should they opt for a different approach in the future.
