Dave Meltzer has provided an update on the futures of wrestling's two biggest free agents, Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone.

Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer explained how the belief from the AEW side is that both superstar performers will be joining up with the company soon.

Though the multi-talented former Sasha Banks has been doing some acting work recently, not only will Mone's debut reportedly be "played up extremely big", the announcement of her arrival could drop soon.

That being said, Meltzer was quick to point out that Mone was very much negotiating with WWE after appearing at AEW's 2023 All In PPV at Wembley, and despite not being able to agree on money, "unless the contract is signed nothing is a lock."

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp would note on X last night, however, that after asking a WWE source about a potential Mone appearance at tonight's Royal Rumble, he was met with the response of "Well, we're not really interested in contract tampering with her, so I doubt it."

When it comes to Okada, the last thing Meltzer heard is that the NJPW legend hadn't fully decided where he was going to end up.

Should he sign with AEW, a debut at Revolution 2024 could be a possibility, with Okada's last NJPW date being February 24 and the next AEW PPV going down on March 3. But if a WWE move were to shockingly happen, Meltzer believes the company wouldn't unleash the 'Rainmaker' until WrestleMania.

It was noted that has Tony Khan seemed especially hyped up about 2024 recently, though, so perhaps this could mean that both Okada and Mone are about to become All Elite in the not too distant future...
