Latest Update On Mercedes Mone's Future

Another update on Mercedes Mone following HUGE Stardom loss.

Mercedes Mone is on the verge of becoming a free agent, according to Fightful Select.

Fightful has confirmed, from members of Mercedes' team, that the former Sasha Banks has no dates left on her agreement with Stardom, the market-leading joshi promotion. This follows Mone dropping the IWGP Women's Championship to Mayu Iwatani at Stardom's All Star Grand Queendom event on Sunday, 23 April.

Mone and Stardom are open to working together again in the future, however. Stardom was happy with its deal with Mercedes as a whole - and the business it helped generate - though said business would likely mean a "bigger renegotiation" if Mercedes is to return.

Mercedes recently confirmed that she will be at NJPW's upcoming Resurgence event in Long Beach on 21 May. Per Fightful, this is the result of an extension to her NJPW/Stardom deal, the length of which is currently unknown.

Matches in Japan are not expected for "at least a while", though people within NJPW and Stardom were positive of Mercedes and her experience in the promotions.

Mone has been under the Bushiroad umbrella of promotions since 4 January, when she debuted at NJPW's signature event, Wrestle Kingdom.
