Latest Update On The Elite's AEW Contract Status

Backstage news on Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, 'Hangman' Adam Page.

The Elite and AEW were yet to come to terms on new contracts at the time of writing, though it sounds like the parties may be edging closer to a resolution.

Fightful Select reports that both sides have been of the belief that agreements are close, though one noted that this has been the case for a few months. AEW is confident of retaining 'Hangman' Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks, whose current contracts are understood to expire in the not-too-distant future.

AEW's confidence hasn't been impacted by CM Punk's impending return to the promotion. Having brawled with The Elite after All Out 2022, leading to indefinite suspensions for the involved parties, Punk's first appearance since September comes on Collision's debut episode this Saturday.

Ascertaining when each Elite member's contract expires is difficult, as there are several variables in play, including option years and time added on due to injury (particularly relevant for Omega).

WWE is understood to be interested in The Elite, though company sources don't expect the quarter to make the judge, with the market leaders "nowhere near being legally allowed to talk to any of them." Sources have denied prior reports that the Bucks sent out feelers to WWE in 2022.

Currently, AEW insiders expect The Elite to stay with Tony Khan's promotion, landing considerable raises in the process.
