Let Him In: The Secret To Beating The Fiend

Ever since the beginning, the Ramblin' Rabbit character in the Funhouse has been hinting that there's more to the Funhouse than first appears and that The Fiend itself can be beaten if its opponent only knows the secret. Of course, Bray always silences him in gruesome fashion before those secrets are revealed, but that hasn't stopped fans guessing.

The conclusion that most leapt to is that it's the red light that gives it this power. As this is something The Fiend has often fought under since what shall only be referred to as the Hell In A Cell Debacle, this makes a certain sort of sense to those with a literary mindset.

The 2006 novel Water For Elephants shows another monstrous circus leader keeping his performers under control by the threat of "red-lighting" them. In this case, that was taking those who had fallen ill or become so elderly and frail that they were costing the business more than they brought in, and then throwing them from the train they took between towns. Could this be the genesis of the red light idea for The Fiend? Would simply shutting it off remove its power?

Finn Bálor, Daniel Bryan, and The Miz would all argue against that theory, as the three have fought Bray Wyatt or The Fiend under white light, and it still destroyed each of them.

So, if it's not the red light, then what might it be?

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
