Logan Paul's PRIME Energy Drink In Legal Trouble?
WWE star Logan Paul's PRIME Energy is a global sensation, but...
Logan Paul, the social media influencer turned amateur boxer turned professional wrestling turned multi-million dollar cryptocurrency scam artist, could wind up in a spot of legal bother over his PRIME Energy drinks line.
This is if US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer gets his way. As covered by the BBC, Schumer is calling for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to investigate PRIME, as it contains around 200mg of caffeine per 12oz - around six times the equivalent volume of Coca Cola or twice as much as Red Bull.
Central to Schumer's argument is that PRIME Energy is marketed heavily towards children. PRIME has stated that the drink is labelled as inappropriate for children under the age of 18, recommending PRIME Hydration, a caffeine-free drink, instead. Schumer's point is that the marketing for both products is very similar, so parents may end up inadvertently buying Energy believing they are getting a kid-friendly product.
PRIME did not respond to the BBC's request for comment.
Logan Paul launched PRIME Hydration alongside fellow YouTuber KSI (who dressed in a bottle of the beverage at WWE WrestleMania 39 this April) in 2022. Its caffeinated equivalent, PRIME Energy, was launched in January, and comes with a consumption warning for those under 18, people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women.
