Long-Absent AEW Star Set To Return

This AEW Original could be set to return to TV soon.

Following reports that 'Hangman' Adam Page is set to return to AEW television "sooner rather than later", Sammy Guevara is another AEW Original who appears to be on the cusp of a return.

As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Guevara is "factored into creative plans pretty soon" after having been absent from AEW programming since the 24 February episode of Collision.

That last Collision appearance saw Sammy lose against Powerhouse Hobbs, which itself came on the back of a win for the Spanish God over Jeff Hardy. Unfortunately, that match against Hardy saw Jeff break his nose and receive a concussion due to a shooting star press from Sammy, with Guevara eventually suspended by AEW for not following concussion protocols.

Prior to this suspension, the plan was for Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho to be a part of the tournament for the AEW Tag Team Titles vacated by Sting and Darby Allin. Of course, Jericho nowadays has his Learning Tree schtick going on, and it remains to be seen where Guevara will land upon his return to AEW TV.

Given how the Team Elite vs. Team AEW story has been hit by injuries to Dax Harwood, Eddie Kingston, and Darby Allin, Sammy's role as an AEW Original could make him an option for that, although it appears that the Acclaimed have now been brought in to battle the Elite.
