Looks Like Athena WILL Be Wrestling At All In Texas After All... (AEW News)
Athena's AEW All In Texas opponent reportedly revealed as ROH Women's Champion earns spot on card.
Athena will reportedly wrestle Thunder Rosa at AEW's 12 July pay-per-view, All In Texas.
This is per Dave Meltzer, who reported as much on Wrestling Observer Radio, potentially adding one of All In Texas' biggest missing pieces to the lineup.
Athena, a Texas native, had been largely absent from AEW's All In build until last Saturday's Collision. The ROH Women's Champion had been feuding with Thunder Rosa exclusively on ROH television until they met on opposite sides of an eight-woman tag on AEW's second show. That bout saw Athena hit Rosa with the title belt and pin her potential challenger, winning the bout for Thekla, Penelope Ford, Megan Bayne, and herself.
Last week, Athena told Sports Illustrated that she wasn't sure if she'd be on the All In Texas card, admitting she'd be "super bummed out" if not:
“I don’t know if that’s in my stars. If not, I have a Ring of Honor pay-per-view that I will probably be defending my championship on. You know, I would probably be super bummed out if I wasn’t on All In, but honestly, there’s still time.”
ROH Supercard of Honor 2025 takes place on Friday, 11 July, the day before All In. Athena vs. Rosa taking place at All In rather than Supercard could rob the ROH pay-per-view of one of its biggest potential matches, though the AEW show, set for the 40,300-capacity Globe Life Field, is unquestionably the grander event.
Athena has reigned as ROH Women's Champion for 926 days as of today. She has rarely wrestled on mainline AEW shows during this period, though she did work one of 2025's most acclaimed matches on 16 April, meeting Mercedes Moné in the Owen Hart Tournament on Dynamite.
