According to The Hollywood Reporter, media executive and major AEW supporter Kevin Reilly has left WarnerMedia due to some serious restructuring under new CEO Jason Kilar.

For those who aren't aware, Reilly was heavily involved in AEW acquiring their TV deal with TNT. He also acted as the Content Chief at WarnerMedia and also held the role of president of TNT, TruTV and TBS.

As of writing, it's unclear exactly how Reilly's departure will affect AEW going forward. Also, it was recently reported that AEW had been given permission to introduce a new third hour of wrestling to WarnerMedia, however this has still yet to happen and it's unclear whether the promotion will still be trusted with that extra third hour in light of this news.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter hammered home just how huge this breaking news actually was by tweeting, 'This news is gigantic. Can’t express how big. Reilly was the one who greenlit AEW, really was the guy who was a large part of why there is an AEW'.

We'll like only feel the real repercussions of this decision at a later stage, but for now it looks as though AEW have officially had their Kevin Reilly safety net stripped away.
