With El Grande Americano II throwing down the Mask vs. Mask challenge to Original El Grande Americano this past weekend, that match has now been made official.

For those who missed it, El Grande II challenged Original El Grande to that match at this past weekend's AAA show following a couple of wild, intense brawls between the two.

Easily one of, if not the, most heated rivalries under the wider WWE banner right now - yes, seriously - this all came to a head on Saturday after Original El Grande Americano got a win over Octagon Jr., with Octagon Jr. unmasked in the process. After that match, Andrea Bazarte interviewed a couple of celebrities at ringside, when Original El Grande attacked Alexis Arroya, a blind comedian also known as Ojitos de Huevo. As Original El Grande slapped an ankle lock onto Arroya, Bazarte slapped the luchador in an attempt to break the hold. From there, Original El Grande menacingly stalked the interview, receiving huge heat in the process.

That sinister tension was broken up when El Grande Americano II flew into the scene, and the two rivals had one of the best brawls in recent memory, bringing a genuine sense of intensity and passion to all of this. The two would eventually be broken up, but they'd resurface later in the night, brawling again, before El Grande Americano II made that Mask vs. Mask challenge.

As it happens, Andrea Bazarte just so happens to be the girlfriend of Ludwig Kaiser, so El Grande II was certainly helping Kaiser out here by swooping in to make the save.

Now, as many had predicted, the match has been made official for AAA's big Noche de Los Grandes show on May 30th.
